As a result, APD might affect a child's capacity for learning, speaking, and reading.

APD diagnosis might be difficult. The issues it causes tend to resemble the signs of intellectual disability, linguistic impairment, learning difficulty, or attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

It is estimated that 2-5% of school-aged children have APD.
